I love this idea and watching how you implement it. Wondering what the difference is between using Google+ and Facebook? I wanted to do something similar where my Sunday school group creates more involvement between the teachers, parents and students outside of our one hour block. One of the teachers was going to make a Facebook page but I am not a Facebook fan and never have joined/entered into Facebook so I couldn't contribute. If I watched you in action on your google+ and then implemented it instead of Facebook I could so own it. But here is my dilemma would it be applicable?

I actually intentionally decided against using Facebook. Since many people use it for personal social media connections, I thought they may be resistant to using it for work. However, the rollout strategy I am attempting may work for Facebook, too!

This is so in-depth and creative. I'm super impressed! I love that you're trying to getting people to connect through google+. My district provides all teachers and students with a google account. I'd love to try something like this next year for my own students to use as well as fellow colleagues.

Thank you, Andrea! My district also provides GAFE accounts to all students and staff. It really supports collaboration!

Great start to your 20Time project! I am intrigued to see how this plays out. Although, I'm wondering how Google+ could be organized in such a way that discussions could be focused rather than simply used to post information, if everyone (~200 people) replied to one post it could become overwhelming. I also wonder if those who don't work directly with students will still be interested in collaborating or keeping connected. What about staff that are not "residents" of the Internet? I really hope this works out so that I could implement it as well. Can't wait to hear more.

I am also a little worried about the flow of information in Google+. However, I am actually more interested in using the Hangouts/chat feature. I simply want a way for adults to send messages to each other that say things like, "Are you available after school? I had an issue with PH in my class today and would like your help to create a plan to prevent future challenges."
